End Table Rescue!

I found this little table/magazine rack and thought it was too good to pass up. Not to mention, it was FREE!
Ordinarily I would just throw it out but something about it caught my eye and reminded me of a project I saw online.
This sad little table was begging for a make-over.

From the time I found my inspiration online, I started looking for the perfect plates to use as tile. I lucked out with this 10-piece set for $3.
I took the table apart, sanded it down and applied 2 coats of white paint.
Next, it was time to break out the cool tile cutting tool.
As I cut out each piece, I laid them out on my work table to keep the pattern flowing.
I put the table back together and started the task of laying out each tile into the pattern the best filled the oval tabletop.
Next I used tile adhesive to glue down each plate piece into place.
Once the tile was in place and the grout dried, I decided the table should be painted yellow to make the daisies stand out so I added yellow paint, light brown glaze and finished off with a poly finish for durability.

And another....

When did you use the grout, before you glued down pieces or after?

There is one just like this at the local thrift store. It is missing some of those lower pegs which it looks like yours did in the first pictures. If so, what did you use to add additional pegs?
