Earlier last week I decided to rip the carpet off of my stairs and paint them. Here is my progress so far. Still have a lot of the finish work to do i.e Install moulding, board and batten and paint. Will keep you posted.
Wow! I am tired from just looking a the pictures! Fantastic job!!! What a big job...but it must be a really rewarding one! We took up carpet on 4 steps going from the den to the kitchen a few years ago but luckily they were not in such bad shape underneath and the builder actually finished out the steps as he should have. I painted the edges white and then bought a runner from a dept store and my hubby attached it at the top step with screws and then staped it underneath each step

edge. I chose a dark color becaue I did not want to have to fret with stains from spills from the kitchen. It has been down 7 years and still looks nice!
