Too Hot for This Gardener

If your summers are anything like ours, right around now the heat is almost too much for man or beast. There was a time when I was determined to keep up with it all, but not anymore. I guess you might say I learned the hard way. Bottom line is you probably can’t really keep up with it all and in the end it doesn’t matter anyways. As long as you maintain a semblance of order and keep the water flowing your garden will see itself through the tough days of summer just fine. For tips on how to garden through the heat wave read http://sensiblegardening.com/too-hot-for-this-gardener/
Try to wear a hat with a wide brim. This beauty came back with me from Asia, awesome brim and light-weight.
Find a shady nook and hang out there for awhile.
Remember the sunscreen SPF 60 is great.
Kick back in a shaded area and just play, make a barrel garden.
Get out the pics and look at winter scenes, sure to help you chill out.
Drink all the water you can manage. Don't want to dehydrate, it might cause wrinkles:)

Thought only Fla. had this heat! 93* high, but 83* at 11:30 PM!!!!! Thanks heavens for the sprinkler system! Can only stand an hour about 7pm.
  • Yes, many people do not realize just how hot parts of Canada get in the summer. Lucky for us here though we have a dry heat, not much humidy.
