How to remove black permanent marker from a sweatshirt...

So...My Mom has a blanket with all the grandkids names on it and it's made of sweatshirt material (100% cotton.) It has a quarter size circle. I already tried lifting some of it with hairspray and Resolve Stain Lifter and it was washed and unfortunately dried...NOTHING came out... I feel so bad!!! HELP!! Is there anything else I can do? Thank you for any help you can give! :-)

I would try Oxiclean and leave it on long enough to remove the stain.Then re-wash

I've used hydrogen peroxide with some success. Pour it directly onto the stain, let it set for a few minutes, then scrub with a fingernail brush or old toothbrush. Repeat if necessary then wash the garment.

can you not just get someone to embroider over the area? preferably with an embroidery machine.

Well n none of the awesome cleaning hacks worked *BUT* D. Roach suggested embroidery which got me to thinking of a patch (very similar) so, off to my local craft store I go! :-)
