Building a pergola

Question

I need a 'blueprint' of a pergola along with instructions on building one. In addition, I want to join the roof to my mobile homes metal, corrugated roof and am not sure the best way to do so. We have these 16' x 16' pavers in the area already (did this two months ago) and wish to enhance the area further. Thanks in advance for any and all assistance!

I would leave the pergola free standing,there by no leaks in the roof of your mobile home.

Most pergola's are free standing. Go to Lowe's, or Home Depot and pick up a book on Patio designs. You will find instructions for pergola's inside. If you are planning a roof over a patio, there are also instructions for them too. Most trailers have a sill that supports the roof. Tie in just below the roof.

I had that idea in mind but wasn't sure there was something I could securely tie a runner into on the upper side of the home, just below the very small 'gutter'. I believe I will get a book on it for examples and ideas. Sounds good, Thanks for the help!

You kind of got the horse before the cart by doing your stone deck first...it is lovely though. Dont try to tie the pergola into your roof....you're just asking for leaks and a bunch of trouble. They make aluminum feet that the upright posts can sit on right on your stone deck. Make sure your measurements fit your lumber. So you don't have a lot of waste. Also don't expect to 'hang' anything heavy like a porch swing from it. If you insist on tying it into your trailer make sure the tie in slopes 'AWAY' from your trailer. If you have a good lumber storage near you, they can help with a design that will use standard lumber lengths.

I think I am going to mount a header just below my gutter and come off of that with my pergola's roof. I am just not sure about how to go about this either? I'd imagine there are studs as with a home but not sure about spacing or how to find them. I can knock on the walls and get close but would rather have a more efficient method.
