Priming and Prepping Laminate Furniture

I'm a lazy prep worker sometimes but I have learned (the hard way) that it is never a good idea to skip. So when I began thinking about painting my ugly, old laminate table for the sun room, I knew I had to have the patience to prep it right so I got a wonderful finished project at the end! Here are my steps!
First I start by sanding, Goldilocks style - not too much and not too little. Just right! Meaning, enough to get through the gloss but not through the entire veneer.
Here the table is nice and sanded.
I like to clean up the sanded mess with isopropyl and deglosser.
Here the table is clean but sanded.
Do two thin coats of primer (I used an oil based since this will be out in the elements a little bit).
This same process works for a door too!

What else did you do? I can't get all of your instructions.
