Easy DIY floating shelves to fill up those empty walls! These plans were made from the Shanty 2 Chic Plans (as seen on HGTV) To view the entire post/process head on over to my blog! http://laceandgraceblog.com/2015/12/diy-floating-shelves/
Pre-drill holes and cut large peices of wood according to photo which is linked in my original post http://laceandgraceblog.com/2015/12/diy-floating-shelves/
Screw the (3) 7 3/4 pices to the back 32' piece
Locate wall studs and hang main body of shelves accordingly using 3 1/2' screws
Build the sides and top of your "box" by attaching the 1X10 cut piece with the side 1 X 4 pieces.
Now you have your box!
Stain and let dry. Once fully dry place box on top of your structure.
Place stained bottom plywood to bottom of box and attach with wood glue and finishing nails.
Suggested materials:
  • (1) 1 X 10 X 8' Pine Board
  • (2) 2 X 3 X 8 ' Pine Board
  • (1) 4 X 4 X 1/4' Hardwood Plywood
