Hi Nancy ~ Yes there is a pump in the bottom of the underground tub. For the first few years I just buried an outdoor extension cord until my husband chopped it in half digging out tree roots. After that he ran proper underground wiring and there is a box hidden under an old chicken feeder cover that is large enough to house an outdoor receptacle, a timer for my gazing ball lights and remote control for the fountain.
