How To Make A Salvaged-Industrial Style Desk
by

Using $20 Ikea metal trestle-table legs and reclaimed old wood oak flooring, we made a new desk that resembles desks we've seen in Pottery Barn and Restoration Hardware!
We are so happy with our new DIY desk - a project that turned out to be fairly easy using reclaimed, inexpensive materials, and basic tools. The finished product is a cool, rustic-wood-meets-industrial-metal desk with simple styling that works perfectly in my husband's office.

The trestle legs are available at Ikea for under $20 and after piecing together a top from old oak tongue-and-groove floor boards, we added a simple picture frame edge from matching oak pieces.
After a good sanding of everything, a coat of stain helps it all come together.
We have detailed all the steps for anyone interested in making their own version - maybe a narrower table for an entryway or sofa table?
Enjoyed the project?
