A friend of mine's husband is a musician so she surprised him by hanging several old albums on the ceiling of his "music room" . She first painted the ceiling red (the entire room is done is red/black/white) then added the albums by putting a screw through the existing center hole. The same could be done on a wall as well.

They make great plate chargers. I just put those rubber feet that look like dots on them to help keep the plates secure. Fun conversation pieces.

I don't know what you will be able to do without damaging them. I have spray-painted some, and then added flowers made out of gems (just glued them on using silicone). If you want something more adventurous, here is a link to a post where they were used to make butterflies: http://www.hometalk.com/diy/outdoor/garden/how-to-upcycle-old-vinyl-records-2412367

Yes, you are right Valerie, it's not so easy to find craft ideas for such project, but my husband doesn't want damaging them. He stored them in box and I might use them for decor on walls or smth else.

Yes, you can put them on a can in the oven over low heat & they will get soft and wearing heavy gloves, you can shape them into pretty bowls. When cool, paint them. Did this in Girl Scouts many, many yrs ago.

There are still people that collect these things! A friend of mine had a business on ebay and at a local antique mall buying and selling records. Depends on the condition of the records.

Go to Micheals and get some clock parts. The hole is already there. Just screw them on and attach the numbers to the wall. Your record will not be damaged.

'Doing something creative usually means that they will be changed. I made popcorn bowls round and square out of some of ours. You just heat them up on a square or round pan and they will melt slightly to the shape. They would make neat flower pots (small) since they already have a hole. A small size ceramic pot would tolerate the heat well.

Please PLEASE I beg of you to not destroy these with a craft project. There are people who will buy them from you as they are, which will probably net you more money than you would get with a Pinterest project. Also I am collecting albums and mp3 players in order to put music on them for people in nursing homes to listen to while they are there. However, they would make great Christmas gifts for senior citizens. Please I beg of you to not destroy them. Reply to me and I will see what I can do about purchasing them from you. I truly am trying to collect music for seniors. Much of this is not available any more, even on CD's. Please don't destroy them.

Could you please contact me so we can talk. I don't really do computer stuff well. Am 71 yrs. Am very involved with volunteer work especially through American Legion (am a vet). Have about 600 CD's. Was trying to sell them at 25 cents apiece whenever we had rummage sales in senior bldg. where I live, haven't sold many. Will explain later. Am also member of Friends of the Library and donate all my books to them for book sales. Please reply if interested and we can exchange phone numbers. I live in North Chicago, IL.

Anyway, people are always wanting them, but they never contact me to buy them {cheap} Did have some in storage and it got so hot in there, you cannot believe the multitudes of shapes...Clock idea is good idea for the not so good ones!
