Painting problems or not?

Today I did exterior trim painting on our house/garage. I finished up about 8:30 PM and it started to sprinkle then but then it quit. Around 11:30 PM we got a huge deluge of rain! Is my paint job going to be ruined or have to be redone? I used an exterior latex paint/primer in one.

    how does it look today?

I never been much of a fan of the combo paints ( primer + paint) to me primer is primer and paint is paint. I the paint looks good you might be OK....it is has "spots" then you might need to do a second coat of touch up...and this time check the forecast.

I you can send some of that rain this way we would be thankful...we have not had a drop in weeks...and Our fire danger is already extreme.

Hi KMS! Oh I would send some of this rain to you but since I don't have the power, I'll just say a rain prayer for ya :-) Man, I heard about the fires near Ft. Collins but that's a ways from you!

Anyway about the paint....This morning the vertical surfaces (doors, trim) appear just fine, thankfully! However the top of the old metal picnic table and wooden bench have fun little bubbles in the surface! LOL! Actually I think when the sun has a chance to dry the surfaces today, those ...»

bubbles will settle down. I don't expect the paint will be too "sturdy" on the horizontal surfaces because the rain came so soon after painting, but that's OK. Those items are not "precious".

BTW the forecast here is for more rain for the next several days. Here's hoping you get some too soon :-)

The bubbles will lie down and go away with the curing process. They are unnerving to see but I have never had a problem reoccur when this happens. Metal is the last thing to dry.

If you don't paint, it sure won't rain!!

Update: I checked the paint this afternoon and all the bubbles are gone on both the wood painted bench and the metal table. Nice smooth surface :-) Now....whether or not it'll be long term stable, time will tell. For now, it's OK :-) I should add that the metal table is a real vintage table. It was my grandparents. It is literally being held together by my "paint and a prayer" method/motto. LOL! The underside is pure rust! One of these days, we'll be sitting eating at it and our plates ...»
    will fall right through!

And CP at Peace Painting you are right! I didn't finish my painting today since there is once again rain in the forecast. End result: No rain! Clear skies and no wind. LOL!
