How to update a mirror

Question

I have this oval mirror (about 22' diameter) that I would like to somehow update.  I have a small bedroom that will only fit a double bed and highboy.  No room for a dresser with mirror so I'd like to use this one.  The outside grey portion appears to be a soft plastic.  Any ideas?

Mount it on a round or square piece of plywood, then glue several rows  of copper pennies around it.  I've done this with a slightly smaller mirror and I love it!

I like the idea of mounting it on a piece of plywood to give it a greater presence.  Can't use pennies though as it's going in a room that has a brass bed and my hubby won't let me spray paint :(

Glue any color or kind of silk flowers around it or just to the top of it.

Get some templates and glass etching cream.  Wrap a coloured ribbon around the mirror .

Take some heavy rope and modge podge it around the edge to frame it, in a single or multi layers.  Then glue a piece to the back to appear that the mirror is hanging from the rope, even if you use the original wire or hanger on the back of the mirror.  Fun!
