After skim coating my walls and doing my own venetian plaster, all I can say is "bless your painter's heart" (i, too, skipped the polishing stage because the polished look can get so dated). Love the colors and the chandellier is amazing!

No Miriam, I hired an artist named Job to do the Venetian Plaster in three colors.

Amanda this is gorgeous! Gives me the feeling of Art Deco meets Victoriana - but in the 21st Century!! Turquoise is really starting to grow on me!! Beautiful ;~)

The chair is fabulous. Tell us, what's behind the curtain? Love the light fixture! It looks like you could possibly even handle a larger mirror in that space?! Maybe just a larger frame!

AK, the client had a living room/dining room area, but wanted to use the dining room as a play room for their toddler. I convinced them to keep the archway and connect the designs so when the child grew up, they could open the space back up again. And yes, the space could take a larger mirror, this is one my client already had so I used it. I promise it is larger and beefier than it appears :)

The mirror fits the table. Could be taller but not wider. Good idea Amanda. If temporary shelves could be built behind the sofa, the parents could see what the child is doing while they are relaxing. Love that wallpaper.

Great idea Nancy, in this case, the dining/playroom are right off the kitchen so they can be watched from there. This room is more of a formal space.

This technique can be done with two different sheens of glaze mixed with your paint. Apply the top coat with an ostrich feather duster for the design effect.
