Revamp This Old Lamp

by Robin Pryor
I picked up this old funky lamp for $8 the other day, and I have no idea what to do with it. It was just calling my name. I had a friend say I should keep it the same colors because the art deco look was kinda cool, but I'm not 100% convinced. I know it needs to be rewired, but I don't even know if a regular lamp kit will fit it. Can anyone help?

I finally got it off last night, but the harp broke in the process. I will have to see if a lamp kit will fit it. If not, hello repurposing.

Get an older Corelle plate from a flea market or Goodwill, and using a glass ( tile ) drill bit put a hole in the center. Paint the pedestal and rub the gold parts to make it look antique. Then assemble using fiber washers between plate and pedestal. By using a Corelle plate it lessens the chance of breaking if knocked over. Use it as a centerpiece, with holiday cookies, or potpourri.
