My lawn chair cushions are in good shape w/no tears. However, they are badly soiled w/mildew, stains, bird poop, etc. How do I get them clean?

I have experience of cotton - Spray with Khalia (or any other heavy duty spot remover for coloured materials). leave for one hour and brush with a nail brush. Spray again and soak overnight in a bowl with lukewarm water. Put item in washing machine for usual wash. Do not put item in the drier and if all the stains have not yet come out repeat.

I would try a mildew cleaner first.Leave on long enough to rid the stains. Then try using a spray fabric cleaner from scothguard.

Greased Lightning is what our church group used to help clean up homes after Katrina. Worked on everything. I would spray, clean with a brush, leave out in the sun for a few hours, then spray with a mild vinegar solution and allow to dry. Good luck!

Scrubbed deck surface, lawn chairs, etc. , with solution of 1 cup laundry detergent, 1 cup bleach, and 2 gallons water. Rinsed thoroughly with plain water. No more problem.

If you never get it cleaned to your satisfaction, you can always spray paint the fabric to look good as new.

Mine were awful, but I found a hidden zipper right at the fold where they come together! Had to rip a seam sewn across the cushion but after I got the pads out I put the cushions in my washer with vinegar and soap. Good as new! Check yours for hidden zippers!
