Smart Gardening With K-Cups

3 Materials
Stop! Don't throw away those K-Cups! The coffee grounds make wonderful garden fertilizer and the cups make awesome seed starter cups.
If you feel badly, like I do about the wastefulness of K-Cups, feel badly no more. You can recycle not only the cups, but your coffee grounds!
Once you empty to grounds out of the cup, you'll see that there's already a drain hole punched in the bottom even!
Peas are my favorite thing to start in K-cups but you can start almost any type of seedling. Read on for my step-by-step instructions to make your own K-Cup seed starter cups.

I like the idea of using these for sprouting. But, if you're concerned about the environmental aspect, you can buy a reusable K cup insert with a screen filter. It snaps into your brewer and you use your own bulk coffee.
