Halloween Fairy House Made From a Bird House....

I saw this birdhouse in our local Farm and Home store. I thought it would make a perfect Halloween house to use as a display for my Halloween decorations.

I took the metal hanging chain off of the roof of the birdhouse. Now I can start transforming this birdhouse into a Halloween house.

I cut and notched two wooden pieces to fit the opening in the bird house.

I glued the two pieces of wood into the opening making it into a window.

I made the door in the shape of a Victorian era coffin, and made a set of circular shaped window shutters to be glued onto the front of the Halloween house.

To give the outside of the house more character, I found a beautifully shaped tree branch to go over the door. I gave the branch a coat of varnish before attaching it to the house.

I cut a piece off of a tree branch to use for the chimney pipe. I wrapped the branch in tin foil and spray painted it black.

I made a hole in the end of the branch for the metal rod to fit into.

If you didn't have a metal rod, a nail would work just fine.

I made the top of the chimney pipe out of lightweight tin and attached it to the branch with silicon. I drilled a hole into the roof of the birdhouse and set the chimney pipe rod into the hole. I used a dab of clear silicon to anchor it into place.

I glued the window shutters and door on crooked to give the Halloween house more character,

For the Cemetery gate pillars. I cut eight pieces of wood to the size I needed and nailed the four pieces of wood together forming a box. I spread glue over the entire box and covered it completely in pea gravel.

Pillars covered in pea gravel.

I added my black gates on each side of my rock pillars, and used my Halloween fairy garden items to complete the scene.

Love the bird house. I can not find it any place I have looked. I am in west Kentucky. Are you any place close to me?
