This "almost NO SEW" cornice board for our Master Bedroom was a simple project. Using some simple construction, polystyrene panels, quilt batting and some fabric it is possible to create a nice knock-off of an expensive look.
You can get polystyrene panels at Home Depot 6 for less than $7.
Build a "shelf" using a 1 x 6 that can be attached with L brackets.
Use a glue gun to attach the polystyrene around the board.
Pin the quilt batting to the polystyrene for a softer look.
Cover the whole thing with your fabric...a combo of pinning and glue gunning works.
Add side panels by pinning them inside the cornice!

Thanks. I have been looking to do that in a couple of rooms in my home. Now thanks to these directions, I now can understand and I can do it too. Thanks again.
