Phase 1 of the Craziest Summer Project. We rebuilt Here is a post and pictures of the first phase in rebuilding 200 feet of new fence! This was a Crazy project to undertake...but we saved THOUSANDS of dollars doing this on our own! All you need is time, stamina and an awesome Dad willing to dedicate hours of time and knowledge to your cause!
Before: When we moved in the yard was covered with un-contained Bamboo....after Hours of digging we discovered the fence was totally dilapidated
Before: This side of the fence was actually falling over. Many of the Posts were in good condition...but the planks and horizontal beams were rotting.
Step 1: Order desired Pre-Treated Posts and beam, Cedar Planks, cement and metal fence framing brackets. We only needed to replace 6 vertical posts...we were lucky!
Step 2: Demo!!! Behind the fence we discovered a Wall of Ivy with branches so this we used a chainsaw to cut them!
Demo Continued: Many of these vertical Posts were salvageable!
Step 3: POWER TOOLS! Breaking Contcrete...this is actually really difficult work!
Step 4: Cementing New Vertical Posts. Using Furring Strips and steaks to ensure posts are level before adding cement!
Step 5: Watching Cement Dry!
