Recently I participated in a “Thrift Store Throwdown Challenge” Where 15 bloggers joined together challenging each other to take what was sent to them from their thrift store challenge friend turning their thrift store pieces into a one of a kind treasure. Today I will be sharing the two pieces I received and how to DIY thrift store items into farmhouse decor ideas.
I received these two pieces a metal pitcher and a wood framed rooster picture
I recently shared how I used gift wrapping paper to create a farmhouse vignette http://www.onemoretimeevents.com/how-to-get-more-from-gift-wrap/
to go along with the theme I decided refinish the frame in the same gift wrap

Directions

remove picture from frame wrap with choice of gift wrap apply mod podge to back side edges I used scotch tape to help keep it in place.

cut gift wrap pieces to the size of the sections of the frame

adhered them with mod podge let dry

apply mod podge to the entire frame to seal

add a pig chalk board piece to the center of the frame with hot glue
I loved the pitcher the way it was with all its patina and all, however I wanted it to go more with our farmhouse style, by making it look more like an enamel pitcher.

Directions

clean pitcher

spray painting in a high gloss white

lightly sanded around the edges of the rim and handle
Suggested materials:
  • Gift wrap   (craft store)
  • Spray paint   (craft store)
