Here is how I used Old Fashioned Milk Paint and created a barn wood look on this solid wood coffee table, fabulously easy! to get all the details please click on my blog link at the end as it is quite detailed but the process is simple ;)
Here are more milk painted pieces I have done on my blog.
here is the finished project, what do you think? This piece has years of use restored with a simple paint makeover, I love to see this happen! There is nothing like a good reloving of an old piece. See many more furniture and home decor free tutorials on my blog.
It started from this old boring well used but solid wood coffee table, sand any areas that are super rough, do any repairs then scrub well with soap, water and a touch of TSP. I like to use a large scrub brush and a vegetable brush for nooks and crannies then leave to dry well usually overnight
using 3 colors in the OFMP line, (slate, driftwood & snow white) I dry brushed them in order to create this subtle but aged barn wood look
then I sealed it up with actiglaze (a poly for durability) and topped with Daddy Vans clear wax for a soft old look check out detailed step by step instructions on my blog listed below
