Several months ago I shared with you a simple shelf made from pallet wood. At the time I called it the easiest pallet project ever! It really was rather easy.
Well, I lied...I think this project has to be the easiest pallet project ever and what's more, like it's easy pallet project predecessor it also comes courtesy of my sister.
This was the original pallet wood shelf. Easy right?
While the shelf above was found in my sister's kitchen, this postcard display was found in her bathroom.

How could I resist this simple project? It’s pallet wood after all. I think she likes pallet wood almost as much as I do…if that’s even possible.
She even has a pallet wood graveyard in her backyard. Hidden behind a screen of ornamental grass is a collection of pallets in various stages of aging to perfection. They are ripe when they reach a beautiful gray patina.
I usually cut up my pallets with a circular saw cutting off the side rails leaving only the middle nails to deal with.

My sister, on the other hand, wants all her nail heads intact. She attacks her pallets with a sawzall, sawing the nails directly off the side rails. What she is left with, are beautifully aged ends with nail heads intact.
I probably don’t have to tell you that the actual postcard display is just a vintage style binder clip hanging on a nail thru the pallet wood though any binder clip you have lying around will also work.

The postcards are also vintage, a collection of area sites from the early 1900’s. They could easily be switched out for different holidays.

Don't have postcards you'd like to display? Imagine the same clips holding your child's latest and greatest or photos.
