Paint Chip Cabinet Doors

My studio has wall to wall IKEA cabinets for storage. They were all-white, but I wanted to do something creative with them, so I could feel inspired and happy in my studio. Because I'm obsessed with paint chips and anything Pantone, I decided to make each of the cabinet doors a giant paint chip, so when they're all lined up it's a Pantone rainbow.
The cabinets in my studio are basic IKEA cabinets called "Besta." I have 6 cabinets in a row, each with 2 doors, for 12 cabinet doors in total.
I created the paint chip cabinet artwork on InDesign using actual Pantone colors and numbers, and I sized the artwork to the exact dimensions of the cabinet doors.
Then I sent the digital files to muralsyourway.com. They created adhesive murals out of my artwork that fit each door perfectly.
The great thing about the cabinet "stickers" is that they are removable, so I was able to keep taking them on and off until I got them perfectly straight.
Even though I used actual Pantone colors and numbers, I created the names. What fun to make up my own paint names. The names are aspirational and/or related to design, so the cabinets are like one big vision board.
These cabinets definitely keep me feeling happy and inspired.
