We live in a manufactured home..I got sooo tired of the boring mobile home doors I finally girded my loins and said.."we are going to paint these babies a color that pops! Something FUN!
We dont have a picture right here of the BEFORE doors, but you can imagine..just plain old dingy white. The before is somewhere on another post that someone else posted of her door. SO..we washed it real well..scrubbed clean. Then the paint we had left over from another project, (actually just a sample 5 dollar can)..went on , so sweet! I was almost delirious with ecstasy!
So ....knowing the back door was so easy..on to the front door! Again a good scrubbing..why do people never look at their doors or their door jams?( I always notice them , living in military housing for so many years!) So the paint went on ... and then hubs took the brass and cleaned it up really well. The door knob was very dark and crusty. Not any more! We are doing lots of upkeep here, have only lived here 5 months.
Doesnt look like a mobile home door anymore does it? I LOVE looking at it, especially when we drive up to the back door and open the screen..tada, happiness! I say..go for a pop of color! You wont be sorry!
aha! I found the BEFORE picture. the molding on the right side was coming off. Hubs took it all off, filled the holes , sanded then painted with a flat, the imperfections do not show! we love it!

Bernice, I gotta say that my favorite thing is tied,I love the color you chose, but I love the fact that you love color and don't care what others think. OK 3 things and that your husband goes with it trust you to make right choice and helps. I love that color can you tell me what it is. It isn't to bright just perfect. My ugly door on my vanilla house needs an update that is 35 yrs overdo. Why the original owners had no taste is beyond me. I love expressing yourself. I'm do glad that when you drive up and reach that door you smile, isn't that what life should be like? Why do people just stick with the safe colirs, because they are scared of what others will say,we'll those people don't pay the mortgage, do they? So hats off to you and your husband. Also I had commented on your kitchen. I didn't make connection. All the 55 and over communities are now all opened up floor plans so that's just great how you did that. Love it. I wish we were neighbors, you two seem so fun and energetic. You would keep me young like you.

Hi, thank you for checking in. Thank you for your nice comments also. That door was in Palm Desert California. Three years ago. So I’m sorry I don’t remember the color of the paint. However I chose it from a selection at the paint store ..those paint samples that you see on the wall. I took several of each color, and when I got home I taped each color together. So that I had a nice big sample. Then I taped it to my door to see which one I would like best. Painting the door was very easy. You just have to make sure it’s very clean, no grease, fingerprints, etc. Then use a primer. And then go for it. We use semigloss to make it easy to clean. The door on our present house, has a burgundy door. So for now that’s OK. But whenever we paint the house, I will go with something more colorful. But that’s way down the road. Again thanks for checking in. Yes I think we could get along just fine if you like to have color. 🤗🤪
