Budget-Friendly Patio Makeover With a New/Vintage Mix

My patio has been in need of some serious attention for a long time! It functioned mostly a storage space for kids' toys, project pieces, and garage overflow. I recently decided it was time to reclaim the space and take it from messy and disorganized to stylish and relaxing.
My patio at the start, yikes!
I knew I would need seating, since all we currently had was one hand-me-down rocking chair. I was concerned though about the high cost of an all-new patio furniture set, so I decided to mix new pieces with vintage, flea-market finds as much as possible. Not only would that be more budget-friendly, but also would create the collected, relaxed look I prefer.
I started my design by finding an outdoor rug to anchor the space. The rug was an online steal for less than $60! Around the rug I then added a new wooden bench (also purchased online), a set of vintage iron patio chairs from my local flea market, and the hand-me-down rocking chair we already had.
Outdoor cushions and pillows with varying shades of blue and orangey/red carry the color scheme around the space and add texture and comfort.
Other flea-market finds, like a wooden shelf-turned planter and iron gate-turned plant trellis fill in the spaces outside of the main seating area. Many of these pieces I had already, leftover from inventory purchased for my antique booth.
I also brought in some shade-friendly potted plants to warm up the space--why keep all the plants out in the yard? My kitchen-cabinet turned potting bench adds more storage and a little splash of color in the corner as well.
In total, I spent less than $450 in making over my patio space, and now have a relaxing, inviting place to sit and watch my kids play or enjoy a drink with friends. You can see the full breakdown of my costs, as well as sources for the bench, pillows and rug, in my full post at my blog. Thanks!
