I fry zucchini for supper and the house smells like fry food. I have clean up my kitchen and pan and took out the fry oil. The oil was fresh. I love fry zucchini but not the after mat.

Yikes! I hate when that happens!! I'm assuming you had the vent on? I only say this because yes I admit I have sometimes forgotten to turn mine on, until I'm well into the 'frying' stage. When that happens here is what I do: I put some cinnamon, cut up lemon, baking soda, cloves, lavender and tomatoes in a pot and let simmer. It reduces the fried odor that wafts thorough the kitchen/house. Don't let it boil over or dry out though, then you'll have a whole other set of problems!. ;) xox

Hi Kathy! Have you tried the method of boiling some vinegar water? Just put one tablespoon of white vinegar per one cup of water and put it on the stove to simmer. Try four or five cups of water (four or five tablespoons of vinegar) and let simmer on the stove for a couple hours. As the water disappears, so does your odor! Hope it helps you!
  • Vinegar works great at removing the odor, and its inexpensive.
