New Seat for a Rescued Bench

Should I paint the bench or leave it in its rustic finish with rusty highlights? If I paint it, what color?

@Laurali M I agree with @Sia@South 47th it looks beautiful as is. What I would consider before considering to repaint, which I would keep white as it is, would be the extent of the wear and tear. If rust is setting in then it would be important to treat and paint. Not only would the integrity of the piece be at risk, but also people sitting on it may damage their clothing. The other consideration would be your colour preference. I do have a couple of iron pieces which I have sprayed several time because my ourdoor decor keeps changing LOL - I am not tied to a specific colour scheme. Other wise I would leave it as is - it looks beautiful and goes so well with the seat.

It is a beautiful design. I personally would paint it white.
