DIY Felt Play House

Don't have room for a playhouse? Use felt to turn a closet or hallway into a fun play house! It's easy and removable for fun in a flash.
First, measure your closet opening and determine how much felt you'll need for the flat front of the house. Then gather your supplies: felt (3 different colors), 3 tension rods, thread.
Once you've determined how much felt for the opening. Fold over an inch and a half and the top and bottom and stitch. This makes your tension rod pocket.
Using a fabric pen, draw a window on a piece of colored felt. Cut out the window and four "panes." Stitch onto house front , then cut out the "panes" on the house front.
For the door, cut a large rectangle out of colored felt, then pin to house front. Using a fabric pen and ruler, draw a line down the middle of the door. Cut down the line, then pin along the cut to keep your door fabric and house front fabric together. Once pinned, cut along the bottom of the door, but be careful not to cut into your rod pocket. Pin the cut edge, then stitch the door into place.
For the roof, take a piece of colored felt cut to width and create a rod pocket on one side. Then using a pair of fabric scissors, cut a scalloped edge on the opposite side from rod pocket.
Add any extra touches you'd like, such as flowers, grass, mailbox, etc.
Finally, use the tension rods to mount the house front at the closet opening. Then hang the roof. Place the roof tension rod higher and further back in the closet, allowing the scalloped edge to lay over the top edge of the roof front.
