Gardening: Weed vs flower

Does anyone know if this is a perennial or just a weed? It came up in a raised bed where I have thrown numerous flower seeds. I think it is a weed but before I hit it with a weed killer, I would like your opinions. Thanks, Teresa

Wildlife & Animals: Does anyone know what kind of bird nests these are?

We have lots of different kinds of birds here in zone 7 or 8. Some say we are zone 7, others say zone 8. I believe we have been reclassified as zone 8 here in Willow Springs NC.

We have lots of those here. The 1st 3 pics are a different nest than the next 3. Does anyone know what kind of bird would build this nest? I found it in my sweet autumn clematis vine. Thx

New potatoes

As an experiment, I planted a 2nd crop of new potatoes in a raised bed during the month of July. I was amazed when I dug under one of them last week. I easily peeled the skin off on one of them just to see how easy or difficult it would be on such a late crop. They were so good!

Gardening: Easter cactus

This cactus was given to me a 3-4 yrs ago. It has grown a lot and looked good every year until now. It is wilting away and I have done all I know to do. Any ideas? I would really like to save it if at all possible. It blooms white with a touch of pinkish/purple. I am guessing it is an Easter cactus but not really sure.

Teresa, I have seen holes like you have dug by turkeys in my yard. Seems they go after bugs.

Gardening: Fertilizer

I would like to change my habit of purchasing so many types of fertilizers for different plants. Isn't there one very good slow release fertilizer for acidic plants, one for flowering ...»
plants & veggies, one for evergreens & just limit myself to 3 different fertilizers? If so, what are the #'s for each category.

Gardening: Angel trumpet propagation

Can someone please provide some guidance on how to propagate this angel trumpet. I would like several cuttings so I can try to root in soil & try to root in water only. I am unsure where to start cutting & how tall the mother plant should remain.

Teresa, see my comment under the photo itself. I mistakenly posted it there instead of here.
