About Me:

I am a lover of old homes with history and stories to tell! I have renovated several, from an 1882 farmhouse in the Blue Ridge mountains of Virginia to 1940 Florida charmer that can't decide if it is an American traditional or a Country French with a touch of New Orleans thrown in for good measure . For several reasons, I have had to learn to do many things myself, acquiring skills I never thought possible! Now I'm hooked as a committed DIYer with my own power tools! I am also an artist who drifted into a side line of custom painted furniture, mostly on a commission basis. Children's pieces are my favorites, Noah's Ark my favorite theme, sharing the themes of redemption and new beginnings. I am also a full time Realtor in Central Florida who loves her profession!. If you're buying a home in Florida, I'm your Realtor!

Favorite area of home improvement:

I love gardening and landscaping the most (except in the heat of a Florida summer).

I sprayed with RoundUp, the Brush and Poison Ivy variety w/ the yellow cap, 3-4 times a year ...»
for a couple years and now I have just the occasional one that jumps over from my neighbors property. I have read that others have had mixed success with this method but I had great results with a really big "air potato" problem. I think the key is to keep after it regularly for a couple years. Now I only have to spot spray or dig it up right away if I spy one of those devilish things! Mine were not in the lawn which would present a different problem altogether but for other areas, this did the trick!
