Painting: I bought Annie Sloan's soft wax in clear to put over the chalk paint, but I need to wax some of my pieces with a little

bit of dark wax. I don't want to buy another can of wax. Can I mix Minwax stain (dark walnut) with my clear wax to make a dark wax? Anyone tried this? Thanks for any input!!

Sorry...no such thing as DIY Chalk Paint®....only LATEX with added 'stuff'. Annie Sloan has ...»
the legal trademark on the term Chalk Paint and is thereby deemed the original and only. 23 years tested and made in Kansas City!

sorry Stephanie, but that is just LATEX paint with stuff in it...and toxic stuff at that! ...»
Plaster of Paris is nasty stuff..read the label. Chalk Paint ® decorative paint by Annie Sloan has no latex and is wonderfully smooth, fabulous and much more pigmented than wall paint. I'm guessing you have never tried the real stuff, because if you have you would know what I am talking about. Treat yourself and buy a little sample jar.......you will love it!

My Little Window House

for the bottom of the greenhouse. And two have to be alike for the little "roof" of the greenhouse. It's lots of fun and looks pretty cute, I must say. :)

This dresser was not that beautiful in person..dull, dried with lots of old glue that I had to carefully scrap off.

I did manage to save the stained top. My Gypsy dresser has a cute story that you can read here http://theemptynest-janet.blogspot.com/2011/...

Trying Annie Sloan Chalk Paint for the FIRST TIME!

I am finally trying Annie Sloan Chalk Paint! I have heard and read so much for and against this product for several months and decided to give it a try. I found a stockist while visiting ...»
my family in Tennessee. I have read several articles about using it and even watched a couple of video tutorials but none of them really tell me everything I need to know. Here are a few pictures as I get started on this project. Wish me luck!

Sweet Pea Studio...Chalk Paint™ decorative paint is fabulous outdoors! Just skip the wax as ...»
wax will melt in the heat. The paint over time will develop a beautiful natural patina. Annie Sloan's Oxford, England shop exterior is painted and unsealed..in all that English rain! Robyn Story of Tampa, Florida painted her driveway 1 1/2 years ago..also unsealed and it is still going strong. Just remember...no wax for outdoor rooms or exteriors.... Tania Crawford..find a stockist near you at www.anniesloanunfolded.com

Chalk Paint™ is not available at any big box stores..only official retailers.

    Hello Miriam, ...»

Annie Sloan is one of the worlds most well known and respected decorative painters with over 40 years in the business and dozens of books published on the subject. She developed her trademarked Chalk Paint™ recipe over 20 years ago and for the last 2 years it has been available here in the USA. It is proudly manufactured here in America at a plant in Kansas. so YES folks, it is MADE IN AMERICA! Because it contains no latex or plastics it has incredible adhesion and you can paint just about any type of surface..wood, metal, resin, plastic, lacquered or heavily varnished. It is wonderful for plaster or stucco walls because it lets them breathe. It may be used on exteriors (no wax application please) or interiors. I also see many adding chalk to latex paint, but all that is doing is making ...latex paint with chalk...NOT Chalk Paint™. The most wonderful aspect of Chalk Paint™ decorative paint is the no prep..no sand quality of it. It can be layered, used as a wash, left to thicken and used as an impasto, gilded, stencilled, decoupaged, given a rustic look, create a sleek modern look...it is unlimited. Because only the Graphite hue contains black..that means you may mix Annie's paints and never get a muddy color..they will always be clear and true. If you would like to find out more about Chalk Paint™ and Annie Sloan you can check out the Annie Sloan Unfolded website.... www.anniesloanunfolded.com

Happy painting and please feel free to send any Chalk Paint™ questions my way. I will do my best to answer them.
