Design & Décor: I have ten windows size 46x41 on three walls that are completely surrounded by knotty pine wood.

I need privacy but I can't afford pleated shades and don't want to cover up the beautiful wood with curtains. Any suggestions?

Depending on the "level" of privacy you have a few low cost alternative, some Sheer curtain ...»
can be hung for relatively light weight curtain rods that are mounted to / in the window jam. For denser shading some simple mini blinds would work. I installed real wood mini blind in my windows to allow the stain grade molding and trim details to be visible. The real wood minis are however a bit more costly then simple metal of vinyl blinds...but the do look great.
