How can I restore a cream colored lamp shade

I have an expensive, approximately $60 cream colored lamp shade that was showing signs of age. There was some mold on it so it was suggested that I use bleach on it. Well, it did take out the mold, but, in the process the metal supports leaked rust onto the shade. Now it looked even worse if you can even imagine it. Not sure what to do with it now. I would like to try and save it. Any suggestions !!!
Used bleach to remove the mold but, now I am faced with this disgusting rust. How can I save my lamp shade ??

Spray paint the shade with fabric paint.

I don't know if painting over those stains will work. I think that fabric may just have to be removed and the metal supports cleaned and sealed so no further rusting will occur. Follow Val's link above it provides a bunch of great ideas. Good luck Sally...

Try soaking in bucket of oxi clean. If painting try kill first then paint??

Coincidentally, I was just yesterday at a small local craft shop buying another jar of chalk paint. While there, the shop's owner showed me a badly stained fabric lampshade she had just renewed with chalk paint. The base was ugly too so she used a different color for it and a warm white for the shade. Hope this helps.
