Note Your Garden Successes and Failures

Mid August is a great time to walk around the garden and take stock of your garden successes and failures. I like to make a mental (or written note) about which plants I definitely want to purchase again and those to avoid. This is a container garden review. More pics on my blog.
The framed electric blue techno heat lobelia in the square barnwood frame. It's really filled out since it was planted. A definite success.
It was a banner year for fuchsias. Not too hot. Here they are hanging in galvanized buckets. Success.
The bright pink gaura that I planted in a galvanized tub in the garden failed to bloom much at all. Never again.
Coleus had a tough year in my gardens. They were eaten up faster than they grew. Maybe something new here next year.
Succulents really can grow in a vintage toaster. I love this. Will definitely duplicate it next year.
