Stencil Fabric with Sharpie Permanent Marker --Heat Set ??

08.15.13
Morning--I am planning to stencil on some canvas drop cloth pillows I made--My concern is transfer to other fabrics and washing them! I am thinking i should heat set them before use. Anybody have any advice?

I found a note here where it is recommended to heat set for 15 min in the dryer on "high heat"

@Karen P- I used to paint fabrics back in the 1970's. Just remember to always wash the material first and when you dry the item, do not use fabric softener. It will keep the colors from penetrating the fibers.
