Dining Room Table Makeover

Hi Hometalk Friends! I'm sharing the makeover of my dining room table and chairs. I saw this set marked down to $85 at a thrift store, and I just couldn't walk away! It had been on the floor more than a month and no one had bought it. I couldn't believe my luck! Here it is as I found it at the store:
Can you see the potential?? After much deliberation, I decided to strip and restain the top, and paint the legs as well as the chairs. Here is the result:
Much better!
I painted the legs and chairs in Annie Sloan's Old White chalk paint, and sealed it with clear soft wax.
I found the perfect fabric to recover my seats at Homegoods...in the form of drapery panels!
They were perfect.
Pretty big changes, right?
Update: I shared this makeover a couple of years ago, but I am happy to report that my table is still holding up perfectly! Here are some updated photos:

Did you strip it? Sand it? I’m looking to do this to my dining room table and hutch. Where do I start? Jotesta@comcast.net
