Mandell Brother's Secretary Painted in Coco & Graphite Chalk Paint

This Mandell Brother's secretary and chair (originally sold to a Chicago, Il., department store) was restored through sanding, gluing, re-attaching the cubbies, aged and added vintage hinges and lock set and then hand-painted and waxed using Annie Sloan chalk paint and dark wax. I waxed directly over the paint (no clear wax in between) to darken the paint in an interesting manner. This piece was staged for its photo session.
A step back in time: with a vintage feather pen, ink well, and opera glasses inside the cubbies of this restored secretary.
Mandell Brother's Secretary and chair restored with original glass drawer pulls.
The drawer inside was also painted in Coco chalk paint like the inside of the secretary.
This chair was sanded, painted, waxed and recovered.
