    @KathyBoth cilantro and basil are super easy to propagate, so you can always take cuttings and have fresh during the winter. Just need a sunny window sill, or a light source to keep them happy. Adding herbs to your "grow these" list is a great idea. Spices are expensive and the fresh one's taste so much better, besides being very easy to process, either by drying or freezing.

    This is exactly why I could never see the point about people spending months to try to grow one head of celery from an old celery base.
