A Small Piece of Expensive Fabric Can Make Inexpensive Artwork.

I found this expensive and beautiful fabric at Hobby Lobby and bought just enough to be able to get at least one complete damask design. It took half a yard (which actually gave me three complete damask designs) and with the 30% off sale of their home decor fabric, it ended up costing around $8.00. The damask design was actually 3-D in that it was laying on top of the fabric and outlined in fringe. This made it easy to cut right behind the fringe to get the design without any rough edges around it. I then attached the cutout to a piece of burlap with fabric glue. I purchased the frame for half-price at Hobby Lobby. I painted and antiqued the frame so it would blend better with the design. The reddish color blends with other pieces in the living room and the "artwork" now hangs above a table, bringing a touch of color to that spot.
