How I Deal With Rusty Paint Cans

I am a paint hoarder--there, I said it! Some of my cans have rusted. To keep the paint, I strain it into a clean laundry detergent jug. The spout makes it so easy to pour out the next time I want to use it. SAVE the paint! :)

I use half gallon mayonnaise jars. You can see the color on the inside and no rust.

I too have partially filled paint cans. This is a wonderful idea, mainly as you said the cans rust and make a mess. Thanks for the idea.

@Mary L Moody You're welcome! One of my jugs (a milk jug) has had paint in it for about 10 years and it's still good. No rust involved! :)
