I just love a chalk board in the kitchen; an instant memo pad, reminders or inspirations. Here are a some of the chalk boards I have painted using cabinet doors, or a piece of wood or a door, chalk board paint and acrylic craft paint to decorate it. Note: to seal the decorative paint on the chalk board just brush over the art with a little glaze or clear acrylic. If you spray a sealer all over the board the chalk will not write well on the black board area.

These are fantastic! Love your paintings and what a great way to make unique chalkboards. You've inspired me to get out my paints and some chalk. :)
