We all know that mason jars are all the rage when it comes to home decor. There are a million and one ways to jazz up a cheap mason jar and these easy fall candle holders are exactly what you've been looking for to make your home a little more autumn. I didn't make mine with a mason jar this time, but usually that's what I would do. I wanted this fall candle holder to be just a tad bit bigger and so I chose to use this glass jar instead.
Since I do so many craft projects I always have a large bottle of Mod Podge on hand, but everything else came from my local dollar store. Yes, even the glass jar. This entire project cost me less than $5 and I couldn't be happier with the way it turned out.
To shake things up a bit you can choose to use real leaves, but for me the fake ones work better. Plus, I tend to make these things ahead of time so the leaves haven't started to fall off the trees yet.
I just love all of the colors of fall. They are just so calming and tranquil.
Be sure the outside of your jar is completely cleaned off. You don't want anything to stop the glue from adhering to the glass. Start with 1 leaf and cover one side with your Mod Podge. You can use a paint brush, sponge brush or your finger. Whatever is easier for you. I started with a paintbrush and need up just using my fingers the rest of the time. It was sticky, but fun!
