Looking for ideas to store bolts of 54" fabric
-
Valerie on Aug 23, 2016I would mount two blocks of wood against the wall, about 58 inches apart. Before mounting I would drill holes into the wood on the one side and cut a V-shaped hole on the other. I would use this to accommodate dowel sticks, which I would run through the centre of the fabric bolts. This is the same sort of principle that they use in fabric shops, and it would allow you to roll the fabric off when you want to use it, and also to see it all. You could also use cup-hooks to hold the dowel sticks. It would make excellent use of your vertical space. If your fabric is on 'flat' bolts, I would visit a local fabric shop and ask them to 'donate' the inner tubes to you. Otherwise a custom-made bookshelf in the right width might be an alternative.Helpful Reply
