I doubt it would be too hard to eyeball, and go from a twin mattress, bring up the sides, and decorate it. Just my opinion. It's very, very sweet.

This is offered for sale by someone in the Netherlands for 895.00 Euros. Its a basic playhouse construction that they can customize. As an experienced woodworker, I would use the photo as a guide. Take measurements of a twin bed, height of a bunk bed. Make a rough drawing of what I want and take it from there. I would build a bunk bed frame out of 2x4's then add the pallet wood all around with door and window openings. Cut the pallet wood for the scalloped roof front. Pallet wood for the bottom and top platforms.

It could be made the size of a toddle bed to a twin bed!! :) I personally thought it looked like a pet bed thingy! :)

This is so cool but having a hard time finding pallets that are not treated with harmful chemicals. Do you have any suggestions as to where I should look?

Lovely idea, I would also hinge it on one or both sides, so you can open it to make the top bed.

Be careful where you go to pick up pallets. Behind most any store/warehouse you can often find pallets. Since it's usually rough unfinished wood, you'll need to sand it then paint it to avoid splinters. Maybe on the inside next to bed you could cover with some material..old sheet to protect daughter from skinned knees.

I would not use pallet wood for this. You can get the same rustic look with rough cut cypress. However . . . I will tell you from personal experience that it is a P.I.T.A. to keep dust free and heaven forbid you have a cat/dog in the house. I think maybe using regular 1 x lumber and do some staining/painting to get the rustic look. Smooth lumber doesn't collect dust/fur like rough sawn does. Gorgeous idea tho.
