Fall Garden Inspiration

Fall is my absolute favorite time of year and while others may start packing up the garden tools and saying goodbye to landscaping projects as the first frost approaches, I am getting my garden ready for it's last big Halloween hurrah! Here are some pictures of my front yard garden and porch from last year. I need some inspiration for this year and hopefully you will be inspired too. Be sure to check out the full blog post for more inspiration!
Mums, purple fountain grass, autumn kale, purple clover (for autumn magic) and several pumpkin varieties are combined here. I reserve the yellow and orange mums for my more primitive/country yard displays and let the pumpkins pop.
Red-burgundy mums, purple kale and pale Cinderella pumpkins are top choices every year.

I "filled" my large vintage urn with this huge pumpkin. It had such interesting colors and textures!
More autumn magic
This part of my garden is so magical. The inspiration for the fall color scheme came from the purple variegations and silvery leaves of several Japanese ferns that thrive here.
It's going to be hard to top this guy this year! I just happened to be at the nursery when the trucks returned from the field.

Coleus seem to do well far into Ocotober. Here, the textures of the fountain grass and coleus make an interesting combo.
