I am assuming you are talking about inside - You got to find there source, where they love / are nesting & remove it Clean the area with vinegar & then use the normal traps

1/2 cup bleach down every drain in the house twice a week for 2 weeks. Mop your floors with a mild bleach solution each time. Gnats are heavy this year and bleach is the only thing I have found that works. Empty your trash DAILY in all rooms and don't forget (if you can get to it) to add a bit of bleach to the drip pan under the fridge.
