Looking for a easy way to add some pizzazz to your front door? Make a custom doormat that creates a great first impression and helps keep your house clean.
We made this one using fake grass or astro turf and some twine.
To make the doormat, cut the astro turf to fit the width of the doorway and poke holes at regular intervals all around the outside edge with a skewer or sharp stick. Thread strips of twine into each hole in the astro turf and knot to create a fringe.
Pretty easy and you can make the doormat in any size or shape, so it perfect alternative for those large wide door. Lulu seems to approve.
What do you think? Does it work for you?

Thank you , but I'm guessing you've never had a puppy!

We've got four fur babies at the moment and they all went through the chewing stage where nothing was safe :D so I can totally relate. I thought the fringe bit was the problem, it tickles their noses and it's easier for them to nibble on. Maybe one of the other Hometalkers has a better suggestion.

My puppy chews on everything! Fortunately, I was at Ikea in Tampa yesterday, and I found grass like mats in orange, grey, and black for 899 each. I bought two Orange two Black and I'm all set now. Thanks for the great idea.

Stunning. Please share some photos when they're done. I'd love see what you come up with for a puppy-proof fringe
