I have a wingback front leg that seems to broken between the arm and the bottom of the seat. The entire middle of the leg is broken and splintered. Is there any way to fix it?

Is this an upholstered piece? Is it of antique value? No picture of it?

A picture of the whole chair might give me some better idea. If it is actually supporting any weight it could still snap under use with just glue. A carpenter with experience in furniture might be able to make a new one but I have no idea of the cost. Before my son went in the army he did some repairs where he needed to make a new piece to match the older work. From what I can see it looks like the break is where the arm enters the upholstery.

You have a project a head of you if you have the skills you will need to add wood to reshape the area that is split glue is not the best way to fix it. Is there any furniture repair (some furniture recovering shops also do repairs). Its not a hard job but very tricky to be able to clamp the leg to fix it they would have the tools and patience to do the job. Hope this helps Teresa

The only question is "how much is it worth to have it fixed?" Take it to an upholstery shop and see if they have experience in repair. They might can put some metal bracing in this . This is definitely a time with a professional is needed. A badly repaired chair is not a good thing to have around!
