Chipping Veneer to Smooth as Silk

2 Materials
My mother-in-law dropped off these little beauties a few weeks ago. At first glance, they are perfection.
At first glance, they are perfection. Such a pretty pair!
However, the old veneer was peeling off and no longer adhered onto the tops.
It basically was splintering off so I took my screw driver and popped it all off to give it a flat, clean surface to paint.
Here are the tables now. They were cleaned and sanded in places. The tops were also sanded after the old veneer came off.
Here is a picture of the smooth as silk top.
The paint was layered in greens and blues. For the full process, you can check out my video tutorial here: Florence Tables Chalk Paint Tutorial
Gold gilding wax was added to the original drawer pulls for a pretty highlight.
The tables were also sealed in both clear and dark waxes. The full before and after is here: Florence Tables Before and After
Suggested materials:
