Looking for a fun craft project to help beautify your home? Cait from Little City Farmhouse used Embossing Plaster, our new All-in-One Decor Paint, glaze, and wax to add some charm to these simple, pine frames!
Hi there! I’m Cait from Little City Farmhouse and I am back to share with you a really fun project using quite a few different products from Country Chic!

One of the pieces we offer in my shop is wooden frames. They are handmade from start to finish, and I wanted to share with you the process I used this time to create a layered one-of-a-kind look!

I started with a simple pine frame. I painted it in one coat of Lazy Linen in the brand new clay-based paint formula. Any of Country Chic’s paints will work great, but I wanted to test this new formula on raw wood, and it was perfect! After the paint was dry I used a stencil and Embossing Plaster in Creamed Honey to create the raised pattern. Don’t worry if at this stage it might look imperfect and a little messy!

Once the embossing plaster was good and dry (I left it for about 24 hours), I gave the entire frame a good sanding. This helps to even out the plaster and give it an ultra smooth finish. I then cleaned it and painted it with another coat of Lazy Linen. Once that was dry, I used the brand new Clear Glaze mixed with Pebble Beach (also the new clay-based formula). I painted the mixed glaze on and wiped it off with a damp rag.
Time for the next step! Once the glaze was dry I used Antique Wax to further highlight the raised pattern. This gives the embossing another dimension. I then added Gold Wax in a few places for more highlight.
The end result is a gorgeous raised layered finish with depth and age!
I used the same process on the next frame. The base coat is in Rustic Charm (in the regular paint formula) followed with a layer of Clear Glaze mixed with Bliss. After it was dry I again used Antique Wax and Gold wax to highlight the dimension of the plaster.
The process this time gave this frame a rich layered patina. The embossing plaster is such a fantastic way to add another layer of finish to your project, and paired with glaze and wax the results are limitless!
